I am an American motographer living in Japan. What is a motographer? It is someone who cruises around on a motorcycle and occasionally stops to take photos.

I enjoy nature and despise cities. However, many of my photos are of cityscapes. This is because the urban world is everywhere you turn in Japan. So are crowds of people. I shoot what I see. I don’t use tripods,  fancy lenses or expensive editing software. I just shoot on the run, mostly at night.

When I have free time (and weather gods cooperate) I am off to the mountains for some peace and quiet. It is how I stay sane.

I miss hearing the singsong of birds and the cool, fresh air as it blows off a waterfall deep in some mountain valley. It is like heaven to me.

This place is also constantly shaking, very noisy, and nearly always confusing. But somehow I survive.
