There was a large anti-nuclear protest in Tokyo on July 29th. This group of protestors tried to march to the gates of the Prime Minister’s residence but were turned back by the police who had blocked off the street with barricades. The protestors shouted at the police for awhile to make their anger felt but did little else. They had already walked five or six kilometers in 90F heat and had little energy left for a confrontation.
