Anti-nuclear protest, Tokyo, Japan, July 29th. The police had loud-speaker trucks set up at every intersection to shout orders at the crowds who remained peaceful despite the petty harassment. Approximately 200,000 people attended the rally although police said only 14,000 were present. The Japan Times, a government news mouthpiece, had the gall to report that “hundreds, perhaps thousands attended”.
